071223.jpg Merry Christmas everyone! I'm glad you could join us for our Christmas service here at Full Life Community Church. This week the whole world will shut down for Christmas. Hopefully your Christmas cards are mailed already. 95% of American families exchange Christmas cards on the average of 60-70 cards per family. That adds up to a staggering 4 billion cards mailed each Christmas. Of course Christmas is not just about cards, it's also about gifts. The average household will spend $859 on gifts this year translating into over $220 billion in gifts.

Isn't it amazing that something that happened 2000 years ago on the other side of the world still impacts us today. Even our calendars are dated from this historical event. 2007 is dated 2007 years from the reference point of the birth of Jesus Christ.  Christmas is really about Christ first and foremost. You can receive great benefits this Christmas as you focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

So today my message is entitled "God's Best Gift." Christmas is about God giving you the very best gift He possibly could give, the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. Christmas is to be a time of thanksgiving to God for His gift of Jesus. NIV 2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! Today, I'm going to look at little more closely at what really happened on Christmas 2000 years ago. We're so familiar with the story that we have forgotten what's so special about Christmas.
