So often we get so caught up in the Christmas rush, that we don't spend any time thinking about why we are celebrating Christmas at all. Gifts are a big part of Christmas. Have you ever thought about where that tradition got started? Well gift giving started with the first accounts of the birth of Jesus. The Bible tells us that wise men came and brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to baby Jesus Gift giving makes sense because Christmas is Jesus' birthday. So it makes sense to give gifts to the one whose birthday it is, that's what the wise men did. Sometimes we get things a little mixed up. We give gifts to one another and often forget about the one whose birthday it is. Today we're kicking off our Christmas message series called "God's Christmas Gifts to You." You see the wise men gave gifts to Jesus because God had given a gift to them in the person of Jesus. So in this series, we're going to look at some of the gifts that God gave to you when He sent Jesus. However, as with any gift, you've got to receive the gift and open it in order to fully realize it's value. This week I'm going to talk about "God's Gift of Purpose." The birth of Jesus is not just ancient history, it has meaning for each and every person. Jesus came to give your life purpose and that purpose will give you joy, fulfillment and hope like nothing else. Purpose gives your life significance, not just for your lifetime but for eternity. Jesus didn't come to this earth because He had nothing better to do. He came for a reason. He had a purpose in coming. Jesus' purpose in coming to this earth was to give your life the purpose God created you for. He came so that you might fulfill God's plan for your life. When you grab hold of your purpose in life, it gives meaning to your life. The tragedy is that most people have no idea what their purpose in life is. People may look successful on the outside. but inside they feel insignificant, they wonder if what they are doing in their lives really matters. At Full Life Community Church, we don't just want you to fill a seat, we want you to discover and fulfill God's purpose for your life. In this message, we're going to look at "Three Truths For Understanding Your Purpose."

Christmas is coming soon this year, in fact Christmas is only 23 days away. The lights are already up the sales are on the advertisements are all over Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but Christmas can also be a stressful time. There're just a lot of things to do in December, Christmas parties to go to, cookies to bake, Christmas cards to send and of course Christmas gifts to buy. We're all looking for the perfect Christmas where all the gifts you want
to buy are on sale and the lines are short. And on Christmas, everyone adores the gifts you got them and doesn't ask you for the receipt to return them. However, is that all Christmas is about? Why do you celebrate Christmas?
