Today we're continuing in our message series "God's Christmas Gifts For You." Last week we looked at how Jesus' coming into the world gave us the gift of purpose. However, you need more than just a purpose in life, you need the strength to carry out your purpose in today's world. So this morning I'm going to talk about "God's Gift Of Strength." God is incredibly powerful. There is nothing that He can't do, there is no force that can stand in His way, there is nothing that can thwart His will, God is omnipotent. God wants to give you a gift of strength, it's one of the gifts that Jesus came to this world to give. NLT 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. If you're afraid, if you're a timid person, that didn't come from God. God loves to give power, love and self-discipline to us through His Spirit. What do you need God's strength for? You need God's strength in every area of life. You need God's strength in the midst of difficult circumstances. You need God's strength to avoid doing what you know you shouldn't do. You need God's strength to do the things you know you should do. Here's our key verse today. NLT Philippians 4:13 I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. You can do everything you need to do in life to fulfill your purpose through the gift of strength from Christ. Jesus will give you the strength you need to go through life not full of fear, worry or timidity, but full of power, love and self-discipline. So how do we receive God's gift of strength this Christmas season? Message Audio |

It's becoming easier and easier to miss the true
meaning and purpose of Christmas these days. Merry Christmas is disappearing and
being replace by "Happy Holidays", "Season's Greetings" or "Merry
Xmas." Nativity scenes have been replaced with Frosty, Rudolph and Santa. You and I do need to stand up for what we believe in. December is a great time to share the true meaning of Christmas, that's part of your purpose in life. However, in order to do that, you've got to have some strength. You're going to need that strength, not just in December, but all through the
year. It takes strength to live out God's purpose for your life.
