Last Sunday, we began talking about it in this new message series, "Understanding the Spiritual World." The physical world that we see around us sometimes does not seem to make sense. It is hard to figure out why things happen or don't happen. As a believer, how can you figure out the plans that God has for you in the world? What is God's plan for your life? What is the plan that makes sense of the world and your life? You will never discover that plan by simply looking around at the physical world or even by exploring your innermost thoughts. You have to be able to see in the fourth dimension, to see in the spiritual world, in order to discern God's plan for your life. Today, my message is entitled, "Receiving Spiritual Vision." I'm going to be talking about how you can begin to see the plans that God has for your life. Many believers simply live by reacting to physical circumstances. If they try to do something and it doesn't work out, must not be God's plan. If they try to do something else and it does work out, must be God's plan. Trying to live by circumstances alone as a believer is a recipe for disaster. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Isn't it wonderful that God has plans to prosper you and to give you hope and future? As wonderful as those plans are, they are not automatic, they won't just happen. Most people realize but a fraction of God's plans for their lives, because they never did see what God's plans were. If you don't know what God has planned for your life, how can you make decisions to cooperate with God? You can't. That's why you need to be able to see into the spiritual world to grasp God's plan for you. You need to learn to receive spiritual vision to live beyond the physical world. In order to receive spiritual vision, you've got to prepare yourself. God wants to show you the plans He has for you, but you've got to be prepared. How can you prepare? Message Audio |

Have you ever put on a pair of 3D glasses to watch a movie or some other type of presentation? When you do, a normally flat picture is transformed. You enter another world, a world of three dimensions. I remember some years ago watching a scientific lecture about molecules by a professor. This professor was a kind of maverick and he brought 3D glasses for the audience. When we slipped them on, the audience gasped, as the molecules appeared to be floating above our heads. The 3-D glasses brought the flat presentation closer to reality, to the real world of three dimensions. However the three dimensional world that we see around us is not the whole picture. There is, as it were, a fourth dimension, the spiritual world.
